FAQs for Guests and Visitors to Dunster Beach

All the chalets at Dunster Beach are privately owned and do vary in facilities, and to some degree in what is provided. The chalet descriptions have been written by the chalet owner and are not verified by the Company. If you have any particular requirements or requests please call the office on 01643 821296 and we will do out best to help.

Q: Is electric included in the rental price?

You should refer to the individual chalet description on the lettings page. Some chalets do have coin operated electric meters but this should be clearly stated there.

Q: What do I need to bring, does the chalet have linen provided?

Most of the chalets provide pillows and duvets, you should therefore bring your own duvet covers, pillow cases, sheets, towels, tea towels etc.

Some chalets do provide a complete linen service but this is clearly stated in the individual chalet description and can be searched for on the listings.

Kitchen utensils, pots, pans and crockery are also usually provided so all the basics should be there for you. If you have favourites from home you are welcome to bring them of course.

Q: Can I bring pets?

Dogs may be allowed and this is clearly stated in the chalet descriptions. It is also searchable in the listings. Please respect chalets that don't accept pets, they may do so for reasons of allergy.

If pets are allowed, all owners ask is that you don't allow them on the furniture or on the beds, certainly without your own coverings being supplied.

You should satisfy yourself that your dog will be safe in the fenced area of the chalet. No pets should be left alone in the chalet at any time.

Q: What is the pet policy on the site?

We welcome pets and Dunster Beach is a great place to walk and enjoy. All dogs should be on leads, everywhere on the site, other than properly on the beach itself. This includes around the Nature Walks too as a roaming dog may disturb our wildlife.

Please pick up after your pet wherever you are on the whole site. It only takes a moment and there are plenty of proper bins provided throughout the site.

Q: Can we have BBQs on the beach?

No. Dunster Beach has a strict policy on all forms of 'naked flames', including BBQs, anywhere on the property – including the beach itself. There is one area, accessable from the main public carpark, by the putting green, where there is a purpose built brick BBQ which you are welcome to use. Please use it responsibly and take your rubbish home.

Q: Is there a laundry?

There is a laundry on the site. It also has dryers. If you use the washing lines outside chalets please respect others and take in your washing when dry. Your neighbours may like to sit out and enjoy a different type of view!

Q: Is rubbish collected or what do I do with it?

During the season we have a bin and recycling collection on Saturday mornings. This usually starts around Easter. If you need to get rid of general waste and/or recycling there is a facility directly behind the shop and office. We value recycling and all the necessary bins can be found there too.

Please use good quality black bin liners for the outside bins, these are available at reasonable cost from the shop.
